Exploring the therapeutic properties of CBD

The world views cannabis in a more positive light today than it has for the best part of the century. Much of this is thanks to our collective improved understanding of cannabidiol (CBD), typically the second-most prominent marijuana compound, or cannabinoid, in the herb. CBD is bettering the reputation of cannabis through its non-psychoactive properties. Scientists have identified that the compound has anxiolytic, analgesic, antispasmodic, anticonvulsant, anti-inflammatory traits and more.

But the sheer number of different products available can be daunting, even to somebody familiar with regular cannabis. We’ll look to go over a few product types in this article, and provide some tips on how to enjoy the best results with CBD.

Get to know CBD

CBD is non-intoxicating, non-psychoactive and is responsible for many of the effects that medical marijuana users appreciate. Psychoactive, high-THC cannabis remains banned by the federal government, but recent, specific legislation has made CBD legal – to some extent. It’s THC that gives off the psychoactive “high” that most people know marijuana for. Cannabis plants with minimal levels of THC are known as hemp. CBD products that contain less than 0.3% THC and are made with extracts from industrial hemp are permitted in all 50 states.

This legislation has paved the way for many hemp-based CBD companies to leave their mark on the industry. Hence the arrival of many organically-grown, high-quality, non-GMO and pesticide-free CBD products, both online and offline.

Highly-rated brands, like Veedverks and Hemplucid, whose products are sold here at, confirm the quality of their products by putting them through third-party laboratory tests. These clarify the cannabinoid profile of the product, determine its purity and quality and state whether it is safe for consumption. Whether it’s a vape pen or a sublingual spray, if it hasn’t been tested, you may want to steer clear.

Many CBD products are full-spectrum, and contain terpenes, which enhance the medical value of the plant. These terpenes have their own benefits, but the presence of all the compounds in a strain produce a synergistic entourage effect.

Could you find relief with CBD?

The National Institute of Health (NIH) has studied CBD closely over the past few years, and their pre-clinical research has helped uncover many of the compound’s beneficial properties and therapeutic uses. An anti-inflammatory, CBD could be used as medicine for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and arthritis.

CBD is also a potential treatment for common mental disorders, too – notably anxiety and depression. Research has shown CBD can reduce social anxiety in public speaking scenarios, and the compound is thought to stifle cortisol, a stress hormone.

CBD is also a neuroprotectant and could help to slow or prevent Alzheimer’s disease, along with other neurodegenerative disorders. CBD is sometimes prescribed as medication for Multiple Sclerosis.

BE LABS co-founder, Will A. Spillo, is grateful to CBD for its pain-relieving abilities.

Spillo muses that his high-octane job as a heli-ski guide and his time as a mountain snowboarder has subjected his body to plenty of wear and tear. Pains and aches have been common over the years for Spillo, but all that changed when he discovered just how powerful a painkiller the natural CBD could be, not to mention how all-encompassing a treatment the compound is.

Spillo says that his discovery and usage of CBD gave him the drive to set up BE LABS.

He says that initially, the aims behind developing the company’s CBD products were “purely selfish.” It was only after realizing how his friends found relief with CBD that Spillo recognized the need to offer consumers choice.

Checking out CBDLuxe products

CBDLuxe products are impressive, and the variety means that all cannabis users can find something that suits their requirements. The company makes sublingual tinctures and topical creams, but perhaps specializes in vapor pens.

The pens combine pharmaceutical-grade CBD with terpene-infused essential oils, and this blend significantly boosts the therapeutic value of their non-GMO, organic cartridges. Here are three of their best-sellers:

BE CLEAR mixes CBD with peppermint, a mixture that relieves nausea. This could be a good product for chemotherapy patients

BE CALM is designed to deliver relief from anxiety and stress. Alongside CBD, this product contains valerian, chamomile and lavender. It smells great, and works even better

BE ALERT will keep your concentration levels high, thanks to the combination of CBD, Persian Lime, ginger and lemon.
